Chicago City S.C. is searching for college interns throughout the Chicagoland area for the 2023 season! We are committed to providing an internship experience that will give students the working environment of the sports industry while providing them with hands-on experience in player operations, sporting event management, ticket sales, broadcast media, social media and more.

We are looking for highly motivated and dedicated individuals with a strong work ethic who are eager to gain first hand experience in the sports industry while delivering operational excellence and the ultimate fan experience. This internship could be the start of an illustrious sports management career for you!

Requirements:

• All interns are expected to work every home game, playoff game, and any special event announced by the club.
• All Interns must be eligible to receive college credit for this internship OR this internship must qualify for a graduation requirement.

Current internships are part-time and non-paid. Internships are determined by the business needs and event schedule.

Available positions are in the following areas:

Visiting Team Liaison

As Visiting Team Liaison, this person will be dedicated to meeting the needs of the visiting team guests on game day. The Liaison must assist the Away Team with pre-game, halftime, and post-game request needs. The Liaison should provide great hospitality and help ensure that all routine and administrative duties for the visiting team are completed with as little difficulty as possible.

Team Statistician

As team statistician, this person will be dedicated to meeting the needs of documenting all game statistics throughout the 90-minute timeframe for all home games while inputing data in real time through the USL website as well as referee game log sheets. The Statistician will provide attention to detail when documenting specific measurable actions (e.g. goal, assist), specific players, and team.

Broadcast Media

Assist the Broadcasting & Production team with all pre-game and LIVE broadcasting through Eleven Sports, including building graphics packages, researching team history, and prepping equipment. Also responsible for executing in-game technical positions such as camera operator, replay operator, graphics, audio engineer, etc. Within this team we are also seeking broadcasters, commentators, journalists and media personalities that will provide a media face to our club. 

Social Media

The ideal candidate for this role should have some level of social media and digital marketing experience but is looking to prove themselves further. Responsibilities include, monitoring CCSC social media platforms, social media advertising, and assisting with social media initiatives including promotions, giveaways, and merchandise, photography, videography and producing interesting content for our supporters. This role is also key in fulfilling social media and digital sponsorship deliverables for our sponsor and community partners. 

Game Day Operations

Game Day Operations interns are involved in a variety of activities including halftime promotions, setup/teardown, fan relations, merchandise sales, parking, music/DJ, PA announcer and more in order to learn about what it takes to create the ultimate fan experience. Enhance your skillset while learning more about teamwork, logistics, processes, and procedures for a successful event.

Ticket Sales

Chicago City are seeking a highly motivated Ticket Operations intern for the upcoming 2023 season who has a passion for working in sports and learning the operations side of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to learn the ticketing side of professional sports and potentially start a career in Ticket Operations. Other responsibilities will include game day ticket sales, supporter and season ticket sales as well as data capture on attendance figures.

Player Operations Intern

Chicago City is offering an opportunity for current college level students looking to gain real world Player Operations experience to position themselves for a career in the sports industry upon graduation. Player Operation intern will report to Coaches assisting technical staff and athletes with on-field tasks such as practice set-up and any other tasks of need. Expect being in a support role to help streamline the logistics of game day preparation and execution.

Physio/Athletic Trainer

Chicago City is seeking candidates for care and prevention of athletic injuries. They will primarily attend all team training sessions and treatment sessions. Expect to attend and work all home games on the schedule. Duties and responsibilities will primarily include the maintenance and recovery of player injuries. Another aspect of the job may include leading preventative sessions to help minimize the risk of injury.

Sports Psych/Mental Health Intern

Chicago City is looking to add a Sport Psych intern to our USLW and USL2 program this summer. We are seeking an applicant that can increase individual performance and educate athletes through mental conditioning. This individual should have the ability to connect with and inspire athletes from a variety of ages and levels. Over the season we are looking for someone that can foster a relationship with our players and coaching in helping us bring a comprehensive, inclusive, and friendly environment at our club.
